Message Carolice: Dont know about Jolyons..but I can fidn out tomorrow and post you a reply. The bay is fab BUT its still very much the old Cardiff Docks in certain areas and that means its rough!!! It doubt very much if that is the case with Jolyons cause I looked at the website and it looks mush BUT its dependant on the area. With St Davids Spa as you are aware you just cant go wrong...its A1. I only suggested the Ibis as I asked one of the lads at work if he had been in the Big Sleep and he said he thought it looked a bit sleezy which thinking about it it does. Its a converted office block by the railway line that looks exactly that. If you want to stay down the bay I would stick with St Davids Spa. You could try the new McDonalds hotel on Newport Road and see of they have any deals (I doubt it but worth a try. That more teh city centre but its a five star job. I was working down on the Queens visit at the Millenium Centre last Sunday it is really worth a visit!!! Try getting from the bay to the twon centre on one of the free taxi bikes. They look like a ricshaw but attached to a boke. People dont believe that they are free but they are and its much safer than walking to the centre of town.. MY TOP TIP IF IN CARDIFF DO NOT WALK FROM THE BAY TO THE CITY CENTRE OR VICE VERSA AT NIGHT...I'll send further update tomorrow or if you think of anthing else just ask!

Hi sazzleevans, thanks very much for the advice. I didn't know about the taxi-bikes & certainly wouldn't have guessed they'd be free. We have walked between town & the St David's in the daytime but felt embarrassed one time we were carrying a St David's umbrella
