What's the typical weather like early May in Paris?Trying to pack as little as possible but still look together.

Two years ago, some days were leather jacket or sweather weather, others only shirtsleeves were fine. And, we did have some rain.

Yes, do yourself a favor and consult an official site such as the one suggested which doesn't rely on the memories of travelers.

Well, you could check www.weather.com for the ten day forecast just before leaving to finalize your packing.

But, the weather in Paris is completely unpredictable, and there's really no "typical". You cannot even rely on the forecast you see on the TV in the morning for that day.

It is not unusual to experience three seasons all in one day, day after day.

So, the ubiquitous layers are best. We get dressed, then bring a sweater and raincoat if we're going to be out all day and into the evening. Usually, we find ourselves adding and removing all day long.

Dari, Have to agree with the predictions of Unpredictable weather, May is when we usually visit France, early, middle and late in the month and the weather can be all over the charts. Do the layering thing, toss in clothes for a day or two of each extreme and just enjoy being in Paris. Have a great time, Deborah

The question that you ask is a generalization for the time of year. The weather can fluctuate either side of the norm sufficiently that should you pack for one then you will be in trouble if it is the other. I often travel at this same time of year to Europe and plan accordingly. The answer is layers of clothes the you add or delete acording to the weather. I have found coats and jackets that zip together to be the most useful outerwear. Columbia do a god and somewhat stylish line here. That will get you around Paris by day. For evenings out, take what you consider stylish and plan on taxis to and from your chosen restaurant / venue.
