May Fodorite GTG??

Hi friends,

I'll be in Paris with two other friends beginning the 8th of May for 4 nights. We'll be heading to Provence for 9 nights; returning to Paris on the 21st for 3-4 nights (3 for me and 4 for my friends).

Interested in a GTG? Maybe drinks? or Dinner?

Hi All,

I'm joining Monica on this trip and I cannot wait! We had a GTG in Paris two years ago and it was great to meet Fodorites in person.

Great Julia! Email me at [email protected]

Where will you be staying? We'll be in the Marais near Place des Voges, so I'm thinking we can met for dinner at one of our favorites from our last trip, maybe to Bistrot de L'Oulette where we met up with fellow fodorites back in 2007. Great food and enjoyable evening. I'll talk to Louisa and get her input.

Hi Julia, it would be nice to meet you too. I agree with Monica's recommendation for Bistrot de L'Oulette.

Just wanted to say we have 6 people for the GTG on the 9th in Paris. Anyone else?

We're planning to have dinner at Bistrot de L'Oulette, like we did back in 2007. http://www.l-oulette.com/index_en.php

Hi Monica,
We will be in Paris from the night of 22nd until 31st.
Another Fodorite also sent out a message for a GTG so maybe if it fits in you can have 2!! I hope so as I would love to meet some more Fodorite buddies. So far have been to 2 GTG's in Paris.

I might be up for it, depending on work. It's pretty much a suburb of london these days with the Eurostar.

tod, on the other thread Rosie has not returned with her dates so not sure what works for her.

As I said in that thread, my husband Ron and I will be in Paris from May 23 leaving on the 29th. We will have spent 3+ weeks in France and a GTG on the 23 or 28 would work for us, or actually any dates within that time period. I'm happy to say that we have been to Paris enough that I no longer over plan our days

We will meet with friends living in Paris one of our evenings . I hope we can find a time that works for anyone interested. Deborah

Tod and Deborah, the 23rd would be good for us. I head home the 24th and Louisa and Elizabeth head home the 25th.

Cholmondley_Warner, Julia will be coming in from England for the 9th. Keep us posted if you can join us. I plan to email the restaurant in April to make reservations.

My email is posted on this thread, so please contact me.

Sorry to miss you flygirl!

I also answered rosie's thread a few days ago. Looks like there's an early May and a late May crowd. My husband and I would love to be part of the late May group. We're in Paris from 28 May thru 3 June. I'll be looking forward to further details. EJ

Good idea! Dh and I will be there from May 8th on, and Saturday, May 9th would be great. We'll be located near the Pompidou, so anywhere in the Marais area would be terrific.

Louisa - thanks for topping this for me!

Great, I looks like there will be several evening GTG possibilities.

Elsiejune are you available on the 28th?? If not, right now, tod and at least one other fodorite will be in Paris during more your dates if I remember correctly from the other thread.

It's still early so I'm sure there may be others interested whose travel dates are not yet decided. Deborah

Deborah, we arrive from the US on the morning of the 28th, so while it's not totally ideal (yawn), we'll make it work if it's the only date that works for everyone else. We'll be staying in the 7th (Bourdonnais/St.Dominique area). And you're right, it's still early as it's more than 3 months away. EJ

Hi Monica, We are in Paris for the whole month of May so I would definitely be interested in either one or both of the GTGs. The only dates we can't do are 20th 21 22nd May as we are in London.

Put me down as an interested party please (with husband perhaps?)

Monica, we would love to make it on Saturday 23rd May.
We are staying out at La Defense ( 10 min from Champs Elysees) before moving to Ile de la Cite` on 25th, but we know the metro well and travel anywhere to and from our hotel.

Would you want to dine at the same restaurant?
We are hoping to try this one on l'Ile Saint-Louis at some stage of our trip:
http://www.mon-vieil-ami.com/

Does anyone have a comment about what its like? I see it seats 40 and has a party table that seats 14.

We could possibly be footloose & fancy free for another night around 28th for Elsiejune & Schnauser.

Hey Monica

Maybe I can draft you with all the folks here who are staying through the end of May or into June - Dad and I arrive at the end of May...
