Maussane: Looking for lodging and a day trip base: Mas des Marguerites?

For a trip to Provence next year, I am thinking of splitting the week between the Luberon or Haut Vaucluse and the Alpilles. I am looking for a guesthouse-type accommodation, and thought the Mas des Marguerites looked pretty.

I'll be one of three women travelling together, and sticking an extra bed in a regular room with a double isn't going to work for us. This place has a couple of rooms with plenty of space and separate beds.

How is Mausanne as a base for three days or so, with trips to St Remy and Arles by car?

I've been to Provence once before, staying for two weeks in two different houses.

I think it is a great base. Easy to get to Arles, St. Remy, Les Beaux, the Luberon, Avignon, etc. We have spent a week there several times and love it. Nithing is more than 1 hour away and there is pleanty to see while going to and from. The village is also wonderful.

Thanks, DanM. Now I wonder what it might be like to stay there the whole week.

How far afield do you go for daytrips? I'll be doing all of the driving for our gang, and the idea of trips longer than about 90 minutes are not too appealing.

I love Maussane, there is a few good food shops, gift shops and others. Lunching by the fountain is a delight and an easy ride to places mentioned. I stayed a week there in two different years.

I wonder if a week's rental in the Alpilles might be the way to go, since I've only ever been there on a daytrip to Les Baux.

Has anyone ever stayed at, driven past, or heard anything about Le Mas des Marguerites?
