Martigny to chamonix train schedules
 

I was trying o look for time table for Martigny-chamonix train schedules for June 2013.. I am not able to find the link. SBB does not have the train schedules. Can any one provide me with a proper link.

Not sure what you mean -- I find the schedules easily at SBB. Just use

From Martigny

To Chamonix-Mont Blanc

No problems.

Trains go about every hour on what I consider to be one of Europe's most dramatically scenic rail lines - especially impressive is the initial climb along an all too narrow ledge out of Martigny as the train rises high above the Rhone Valley.

For schedules I always find the German railways site - www.bahn.de to be the easiest to use for schedules for any European train - a good way to reach the English schedule page of bahn.de is to go to the home page of www.budgeteuropetravel.com and click on the link Best Online European Train timetable - or some such wording and it brings you to the English page where you put in From - Martigny and in the To box Chamonix - I suggest this link because they also give you some useful tips on using bahn.de that may not be apparent at first encounter.

But again you can be sure that that train will run about hourly, guaranteeably.

The Mont Blanc Express train is provided by TMRSA. There are major train works on this line at the moment and a replacement bus service is in place; http://tmrsa.ch/upload/File/pdf/132.pdf

I didn't have problem finding the schedule at www.sbb.ch, either.
This is an underrated scenic train trip not often mentioned by the visitors. The initial view is to the right (north) as the train climbs up the mountain on the right side. Then it hugs the mountains mostly on the left (south) with the view of the deep valley on the left side of the train.
It looks the train part is only to the Chatelard, then bus to the Chamonix for some reason. The train interval is 1,2, or 3 hours depending on the part of the day. I used a Swisspass, and the entire trip to Chamonix-Mont Blanc was covered. I checked at the ticket counter at Martigny first, and the SNCF ticket inspector on the train confirmed it again.

There are actually some works between the border and Chamonix and one has to change to buses for this leg.
Trains should run again from June 29th.
SNCF has not yet published the timetables for this period. Therefore you find all kinds of exotic itineraries for July in havas based electronic timetables like bahn.de, sbb.ch, oebb.at. Forget them. The Summer timetable will more or less look like last year:

I second that notion - much more dramatic than the over-hyped Glacier Express and several other hyped scenic trains like the Golden Pass (nice but not dramatic train rides like this one with the initial ascent from the Rhone Valley that greg talks about being fantastic.

and yes as greg suggests be sure to sit on the right side of the train when leaving Martigny - some rail links require a simple change of trains at the French border. In the Chamonix valley however the dramatic glaciers are on the left side.

BTW A Swiss Pass passes in full to Chamonix even though part of the trip is in France.
