Marseille to St Tropez: great lodging?
 

Hi,<BR><BR>Need to fly in to Marseille for a business trip later this year; husband will follow. Want to turn some free time into a nice vacation and am looking for a hotel on the water in this vicinity. Can anyone give me some recommendations. Price range near $200 +/- $50 is about right.<BR><BR>Thank you.

I'm not asking this in a mean-spirited way, but does it have to be Marseille? May we suggest alternatives close to Marseille?

Shannon,<BR><BR>Yes -- I find little charming about Marseille. So, I am definitely interested in sea-front hotels somewhere just to the west of marseille, or east as far as St. Tropez.<BR><BR>Thanks.

We have enjoyed our stays at the Chateau Valmer, which is located a little west of San Tropez in La Croix Valmer. Large, nicely furnished rooms; beautiful grounds; nice restaurant with terrace dining; helpful staff. It is a short distance away from the beach where guests can use the facilities at their sister hotel La Pinede Plage.
