Marseille to Frankfurt
 

We have separate holidays arranged in France and Germany during August/September this year.

We have four days to get from Marseille to Frankfurt (Sunday to Wednesday) and would appreciate any ideas on how best to do this, including places to spend one or two nights on the way.

Will you have a (rental) car or will you be restricted to rail travel?

Both options to consider, however rail seems to take a long while.

Needs a bit of local transport spotting, but the cheapest way to get Languedoc-Frankfurt is Ryanair Montpellier-Marseille.

A few days exploring Montpellier, Sete, Aigues Mortes, Beziers, etc would make a good break.
