Marriott Hotel in Edinburgh or Dalmahoy Marriott Hotel?

For our 10 am flight where should we stay? Edinburgh Marriott Hotel, 111 Glasgow Road or Dalmahoy Marriott Hotel and Country Club? Both are 110GBP per night or we could use our Marriotts points. Dalmahoy does not include breakfast

Edinburgh Marriott is archetype airport hotel from outside - i.e pretty yuk. It has had 2 previous owners and has never been regarded as anything remotely special. So if you need to be near the airport, go for the Dalmahoy as at least you will have something nice to look out on to rather than the main road and the grounds should be pleasant to walk around.

I live in Edinburgh and I'd say go for the Glasgow Road one, if you want breakfast. They are both on the airport side of the city and only 5-10 minutes' drive to the airport. Although Dalmahoy looks more picturesque from outside, it's still a chain hotel. If you stay on Glasgow Road you could easily get a bus/cab into the city centre for an evening out.

I stayed at the Glasgow Road Marriot when it was a Swallow Hotel a few years ago. It was a good chain hotel with a pool, sauna and whirlpool. Good bar and resturant.Typical good quality chain hotel.
The bus stop into Princess St. was across the road and took about10-15min. cost was around a pound.
Enjoy your visit wherever you stay!
