Marriott Champs Elysees

Has anyone stayed at this hotel.....we will be staying for two nights in September and would love to know what anyone thinks.

We stayed there and loved it. Great location...5 minutes walk from Arc de Triomphe...2 minutes from Metro stop...walking distance (if you're big walkers, which we are) to Louvre. They even had a reception for guests with great wine and appetizers. Have a great time.

We did not stay there, but we did go inside to check it out when we visited Paris. It looked extremely nice, and has a great location !

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in March. What a dump! We stayed one night and checked out early -- among the many surprises: dirty bed linens, dirty toilet, roaches in bathroom. What a mess. Never again.

I am stunned to hear that someone would think the Marriott was a dump. My husband and I always stay at nice hotels (4 stars, occasionally 5) and found this Marriott to be one of the best we stayed at in Europe. The lobby has a retractable ceiling and it is incredibly beautiful when they open it up. You cannot beat the location. From what I was told, it is the only hotel actually on the Champs Ellysees. The only bad thing about the hotel is that I just called for reservations and the cheapest room for September is $700 per night. Ouch! You will love your stay.

Jake, you could not have stayed at the Marriott Champs Elysees because it is the exact opposite of what you described. We have stayed at this beautiful hotel twice since it opened and have found it to be elegant, modern, spacious, very clean, with excellent service. And, it's location is perfect. We would recommend this lovely hotel to those with class.

ttt for Matthew's honeymoon plans

What a relief to hear that this Marriott is not a roach motel! My husband and I will be staying there for 6 nights in September for our honeymoon (using Marriott points). I had heard good things about the hotel, but was dismayed when I saw the post about roaches and dirty linens. I'll post my own report upon our return.

My friends stayed at the Marriott Champs Elysees and absolutely loved it. I believe "Jake" has mental problems and/or issues with the Marriott chain. This hotel is beautiful and very clean. And, it is expensive. "Jake" probably cannot afford such elegance. He must be referring to the fleabag hotels in other districts of Paris.

Actually, here is the story on Jake. It seems that he was out one night drinking the French equivalent of Thunderbird wine, and after consuming several liters, he stumbled into the alley behine the Marriott, fell into the dumpster and passed out, where he spent the night. When he woke up, he proceeded to eat breakfast from the garbage, and then complained to the management that his room smelled funny, there were bugs, and besides that, his breakfast was cold. What a loser.

This upscale hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is one of the best hotels in Paris. I visited my sister and her family while they vacationed there this spring. They would return to the Marriott Champs Elysee in a heart beat. A truly elegant American hotel with great Parisian charm.

Stayed there in May for 6 nights using Marriott points. The hotel was great, service excellent and Tony the concierge was so helpful.

Our room was on the small side, but that is probably due to it being free. The bathrooms are very nice.
