can anyone suggest some nice places to eat and not to expensive?

I'd be interested too, as I am staying in that area in January. But you should check the spelling - it helps for search purposes. It is MARYLEBONE. Hope someone else can help!

My favorite is the Seashell Restaurant in Lisson Grove - just 2-3 blocks from the Marylebone station.

Another vote for the Seashell. I think there might be a restaurant as well as a take out place. I went to the take out place.

Seashell Restaurant is very good for fish and chips, but IIRC, there are also a number of restaurants a few block south of Marylebone on Crawford St. It should be just west of Baker, and the street runs for a few blocks with some local places on it....One of my personal favorites is the Beehive pub, with good lunch food. It's on the south side of Crawford St. west of Baker. Best wishes. Dave

Does anyone know how to pronounce this?

Meg Oct 15th, 2002 08:27 AM

Marylebone?
Marly-bone.
Right Mr H?

Say Mah-ri-le-bone really quickly, so that all the syllables run into each other and you'll get something close.

Some people also say Marlibone.
