marks and spencer

Is it true that there is now a Marks&Spencer department store in Budapest? I will be travelling there for business, and had considered stoping over in London to do some shopping, but it seems i may not have to!

There has been a Marks & Spencer presence in Budapest for many years. Just don't expect the same range you would find in London.

Hi

I may well be wrong, but I believe M&S pulled out of all overseas locations in 2002 because of financial prtoblems.

They certainly pulled out of France ....... there were well publicised protests about it

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com
They were still in Budapest last spring (depsite France closures), I suspect Kat's info will be best. BUt Rod is 100% correct, store is not very good. If you were really looking at stopping off for shopping in London, I would not change plans. Check out Selfridges now -more up market then M & S, but a really fantastic store now for fashion items. Leaves harrods trailing. m & s has distinctly improved over past couple of years.

There are Marks&Spencer shops in Budapest, 4 of them to be precise! You can find the biggest one in the Westend City Center (at Nyugati square), small ones are to be found in Vaci street, in Duna Plaza and Arkad Shopping Center.
