Are you asking because you are skeptical of their website? or because you have never seen it? It gives a lot of useful pictures - - see www.markreecastle.ie for more info - - click on "Accommodations" for a bedroom picture and description(s).

It looks pretty cool to me.
I agree Rex that Markree looks cool on their website, but I was just wondering if anyone has actually experienced staying there.

Bonnie,
I had some friends who attended a wedding in Markree but due to the wedding party pre-booking the hotel they didn't stay there and stayed at Temple House instead (also a beautiful place - check out their web site). My friends had a wonderful time in Markee - the wedding cermony itself was in the Castle's ancient church by candlelight.

I know this doesn't answer you question but hope it is of some help,

Cathy

Cathy,

Your post was interesting, even though you didn't actually stay at Markree. Maybe I'll check it out as a place to get married, and bribe one of our "children" with the idea of getting married in a castle. I'm getting tired of waiting around for 1 of them to take the plunge. They are 26, almost 29 & 30 yrs. old. Although they each have a "significant" other no one is in any hurry to get married.

to the top... for Michael...

Postscript: If this forum had an easier way to locate and direct readers to a specific (previous) posting by a unique identifier (timestamp), it would not be necessary to top (and repeat) information so tediously. This is my new crusade, and I am thinking about adding this postscript (when applicable) to every new reply I make here. If you agree with me, then please write to Danny Mangin or David Downing - - [email protected] - - and encourage them to move forward with this improvement (and any others they have up their sleeves) to this best-on-the-web travel forum!
