Marizan caves in Oia

Would love some feedback from anyone having stayed in the Cave Studio at the Marizan caves in Oia. We booked there primarily for the sunset and view, a friend who has been to the caves tells me that it is really claustrophobic and not very nice. We will be there Sept 26 and 27 and I know that the sunset is much earlier at that time of the year, should we stay somewhere else?
Thank you in advance for a sincere reply.

Some people are claustrophobic and a cavehouse might not be the best situation for them. Also, some rooms are going to be smaller than others, which would intensify any reaction you might have to enclosed spaces. Most rooms are small because of limited space available, so it's likely the one you're given in any hotel is going to feel claustrophobic if it's a cave. And since most hotels in Oia that have a view of the sunset or the caldera are cavehouses, perhaps you should rethink your choice.

Your other choices in Oia for a nice room with a view of the sunset are limited. Check Esperas Houses, Golden Sunset Villas, Oia Castle Hotel, Fanari Villas and Theodora Suites. I can not tell you which rooms are caves and which rooms are the largest.

Hi again,
Thank you for the reply, one more question, we have booked on Sea Jets from Milos to Thira, is the port name at Thira Athinion and is that the only port that the ferries land?
Efharisto para poli!

The name of the ferry port is Athinios and it's the only one where ferries arrive and depart.

Thanks a million, now how much do you know about Blackberrys and if it's possible to buy a card in Greece etc..does the sim card give you air time and also data? sorry, I'm a techno peasant, have an older blackberry that I can bring along just for use in Greece.

Did I answer this for you on another website? It will need to be an unlocked quadband unit so it works in Greece. If it's a quadband unit you may need to get your service provider to give you the unlock code. Cosmote has several different SIMs for sald and you can find them all over Greece. The Germanos Store at the Athens Airport and next to the main square in Fira can set you up.

We were in a cave room at Esperas. You only have light at the entrance and did their best with a second extra window. Nice room but would not stay in one again, felt a little trapped and remote.

I don't think I asked about the blackberry anywhere else but thank you for replying. I don't use that provider any longer but I will call them and find out.
