Marignane airport (Marseille) -- Where can I fill up my rental car?

Does anyone know whether there is a gasoline station at or somewhere near the entrance to Marseille airport (Marignane)?

We are picking up our rental car at Lyon airport and dropping it off at Marignane. We will be staying at some distance from Marignane and have no way of checking out gas sources before we drive in on the motorway.

We need to return the car with a full tank or pay a penalty (ie there is a hefty refill charge). Can anyone help me with this?

There is a Carrefour in Vitrolles next to A7 which is just a couple of minutes from the airport. Carrefour sells fuel at their stations located adjacent to their large stores.

Tedgale -

There is a gas station about 500 meters from the retnal car drop-off area in Marignane. It's at the first big roundabout just as you enter the airport. It will be on your left when coming in, so you'll bneed to go around the roundabout and then gas up.

Just FYI: We successfully gassed up at Marignane.

The station is a Total.

As we came into the airport, we saw the station off to our right. We had to make an illegal left turn to get to it directly (at Marignane, they make you drive round and round to get anywhere).

Rates were not significantly higher than what we paid elsewhere, at Carrefours or Leclercs.

Though Marignane has grown, it is still one of the easiest airports, in so many ways. On Tuesday morning it seemed practically empty. Once we (finally) got on the right road from Aix en Provence, we were at the airport in 20 or 25 minutes.

I am writing this in the hope that it helps others. Thanks again.
