Hi Maribel
I'm going to Spain in 2 weeks and was wondering if I could get your files. I'm going to Seville, Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, and Barcelona.

Thanks [email protected] or [email protected]

tonja,
I've tried multiple times to send you the info, both to your hotmail account and to your husband's mircrosoft.com account (yesterday), but they've bounced back! I know that you cleaned out your hotmail account, so I don't know why this is happening. Please trust me-I've tried and tried. I'll try one more time, right now. Please let me know if you finally receive them!
Thanks,
Maribel

I hope this is going to Maribel, if not, please send me her e mail address...I am going to Spain in early Oct, could you please forward any info you have on Toledo, Cordoba, Granada and the Costa Del Sol(Marbella area)...I got the other files on Madrid, Segovia, Sevlle and barcelona, they were very helpful...Debbie
PS how far is the drive from Sevilla to Alhambra? alos, do you think an intermediate car is too large to drive around the little streets? Do you know if the hatchback compact cars have a covered area for luggage??
OOPs I forgot my e mail address which is [email protected]
thanks so much!

Maribel Sep 29th, 2003 03:55 PM

tonja,
Hurrah! You should have received the others by now too (I dearly hope!)

Debbie,
The drive from Seville to Granada should take about or a bit under 3 hrs. I would definitely opt for the smallest car you and your luggage will allow. I much, much, much prefer driving a Seat Ibiza, Renault Clio, VW Polo or Opel Corsa (category B) or Ford Focus through those tiny, narrow white town streets with parking spots the size of bath mats than an intermediate, category C or D. In fact our Renault Megane just barely fit through the miniscule streets of Gaucín with side mirrors pushed in. There were some tense moments. With a Renault Laguna we would have been miserable.

A smaller hatchback compact will have a convered area for luggage, not to worry!

Sorry, but I never got around to finishing my Granada file and have yet to write one on the Costa del Sol. I just have to put all my accumulated info into a book someday. If I only had the time! If you do text searches for the areas you mentioned, you'll find plenty, oodles of great info from many helpful Spain posters here.

Hi Maribel - I am planning to propose to my girlfriend in Spain and will be in Barcelona, Madrid, Seville and Granada at the end of October. I am a little nervous but would appreciate your help on information you may have on those cities as well as suggestions on where to pop the big question. Hi Maribel. My husband and I are planning to celebrate our 5th anniversary in Spain. We are planning to visit Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Granada, and somewhere on the Costa del Sol. I've been researching and reading a lot in the Frommer's guide but by reading all the postings on this website I think maybe your files would be all I would need to plan the perfect trip. If you would please do me a huge favor and email your files I would be forever grateful! My email address is [email protected].

Thanks so much!

Hi Maribel:
My mom, sister and I leave for Spain this fall. I would appreciate your files on Sevilla, Arcos de la Frontera, Ronda, Granada, and Madrid. I did book the Casa De Madrid for 4 nights after reading one of your previous replies. I'll let you know what we think of it.
I've appreciated so many of your tips. Thanks. [email protected]

Maribel,

without even knowing it, your advice has helped me more in the past three days as i finalize my spain trip than fodors and frommers and michelin put together! and that is without even having seen the infamous "maribel files". so, can i add my name to the list and ask for madrid, barcelona, and andalucia (we are renting a car and driving, over the course of a week and a half, from granada to seville). email is: [email protected].

gracias!

Hello Maribel,

I'm going to Madrid, Toledo, and Seville in a month for seven days. Wondering if I can fit Segovia or Granada in. Which do you think? if Granada, what is the best route: Madrid, daytrip to Toledo, then Seville (via AVE, hotel?), Granada (how to get to Granada and hotel?) and back to Madrid (how best to return to Granada)? Or Cordoba?

Would love to get your files and MANY THANKS!

Maribel,
I have greatly enjoyed your postings and was wondering if you could send me your files. My son is in Spain now and I would like to forward them to him for use as he visits. He is currently in Seville and on his way to Jerez but will be visiting Cordoba, Granada, Barcelona and Madrid- and probably elsewhere too.
Thank you. You are the patron saint of Spanish travelers.

Maribel,

I noticed in another thread you mentioned your favourite guide book of Spain to be 'Discovering Spain' by Penelope Casas. Is the 2000 edition the latest? If so, would you regard it as being current or should I be looking for a later guide?

Thanks
Ranald
