Marbella or Nerja?
Wife and I are going to Europe next spring.Wer'e spending few wks in Spain, one week in south.
Any advice as to which of these towns to
use for a base for a week in the south? thank you.
|
i work in travel and live in Spain and would consider Sevilla as a base, beauty ,history, near wine country and beaches mountains.
|
thanks daniel but we will see Seville as part of our tour but want to spend a week on the coast after the tour on our own - anyone? Nerja or Marbella? thank you.
|
Tough choice ! Nerja is lovely, but both Marbella and Estopona are better located for day trips.
|
BOB -which would you choose?

Hi Kent- I was in Nerja a few years ago and thought Nerja was a great little town. I would highly recommend staying there. It was charming and not overly crowded.

More to see in and around Marbella. Lovely old centre, beautiful marina at Puerto Banús, nice hotels and resorts, very touristy! More upscale than Nerja which is more family oriented. Lovely place though!
Brenda..were you there for a week?did you do daytrips? my wife likes to do little car trips not more than about an hour or hour 1/2 .

From Nerja you can easily visit the white village of Frigiliana, imo the most beautiful white village in Andalucía. Also Salobreña is not too far away.
