Marbella from Barcelona or San Sebastian?

We have a week to spend in Spain after our daughter's wedding mid June in Costa Brava. Considering going to Marbella for couple nights and going to Rhonda for a day trip. On the other hand, wondering if it might be better to go to San Sebastian and skip south spain altogether. Would love any feedback or ideas for spain travel. We will be renting a car for the first part o four trip but are considering flying to Marbella if we go there.

I'm not sure how to respond, given that Spain is HUGE and you've said nothing about your interests. There's a lot to see in the Costa Brava -- no desire to explore that region? Southern Spain without it's gems (Sevilla, Granada, and Cordoba)?

If you don''t already have one, I'd recommend consulting a good guidebook. The Michelin Green is excellent. And you might find some useful information in my old trip report. The section on the Costa Brava begins with Day 20 as described in post #12; the section on Bilbao & San Sebastian / Donostia begins with day 13 as described in post # 7, continuing with post # 12. https://www.fodors.com/community/eur...lunya-1047395/

Hi Kja - thank you for your reply. I have visited Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Toledo previously and loved all of them. I love visiting quaint towns and am not a big foodie. Marbella was attractive because we got a great hotel reservation at a resort there for two nights. I am told Rhonda and Mejas (sp?) are very pretty. however, the idea of losing time traveling to Marbella from Spain is making me rethink that plan. I do have a few days prior to the wedding to explore Costa Brava.

FYI: Ronda, not Rhonda.

Seems pretty crazy to me to fly to Marbella when there is so much to see and do, and so many wonderful hotels, on the Costa Brava and in Girona...why waste so much time going to a completely different region? Marbella.....not for my taste...

Girona and region does make more sense
