Marbella and Sevilla trip
 

We are going to fly into Malaga, rent a car at the airport and drive to Marbella. We plan to spend 4 nights in Marbella and want to do day trips from there but also want time to relax so don't want to spend all day driving back and forth. We will then drive to Seville and spend two nights there before flying home. Any suggestions for day trips including trips from Marbella- off the beaten path, maybe a vineyard also? Where should we stop on the way to Seville? Any favorite restaurants?

Can you spend more than 2 nights in Seville? It is a gorgeous city with lots to see and do. We were there for 4 nights, and we could have used one extra night.

Er can try but we’re planning on doing day trips from Marbella and having time to just relax.

i too would recommend 3 nts in Seville and 3 nts in Marbella; we came from the north, only driving from Seville through the Pueblos Blancos, Ronda, to Granada, then spent our last 2-3 nights in Marbella at the fabulous Town House (hard to find but so worth it). We didnt want to drive anywhere from Marbella but just took a book ride to the fancy village and port to the west which name escapes me. Can recommend few restaurants in Seville but dependent on where you'll be staying. Think we took the car out one day but didnt find anything prettier than just chilling at the rooftop of the Town House and strolling the pretty town.

Jerez-de-la-Frontera is a great day trip from Seville - sherry house tours and practice sessions of behemoth Andalusian horses in local arena - very famous. And comeback to Seville at night for fun in the flamenco bars.

We were thinking of stopping in Jerez de la Frontera on the way from Marbella to Seville. Which sherry bodegas do you recommend? Any other stops we should make on the way?

We were 5 nights in Seville, and decided not to take a day-trip because we enjoyed the city so much.

El Pinton and San Marco were our favorite restaurants in Seville. Really good. We were amazed at how affordable everything is here.

The Flamenco Museum is a fun place to watch a dance exhibition. Best to buy tickets in advance, because the very small theater gets sold out.

I just visited one of the major ones in town so can't comment on which ones are better - but Cadiz is a neat seaside town to stop in just before Jerez.
