Mappy.com

I am wondering if the approximate driving times at Mappy.com are reliable. Do they factor in the time spent in notoriously congested areas or do they use a "as the crow flies" formula?

Also, what is the reliability factor for Mappy? Our Mapquest.com very often sends you on a ridiculous route and isn't up to date on road changes. Imagine two ladies driving the wrong way on a busy one way street at 2 a.m. in San Antonio, Texas and you will get the flavor of a Mapquest misadventure.

For me, mappy.com is the most reliable software around for directions and accurate times. It seems to be much more realistic, for me anyway, than viamichelin.com.

I agree Mapquest just sucks....

I think that both mappy.com and viamichelin.com are reasonably accurate; I don't think that mapquest.com is in the same league - - though I didn't know of any cases of bad misdirection. The funniest use of mapquest.com is the driving times for Los Angeles - - Beverly Hills to LAX in 19 minutes - - yeah, right! not even with George Jetson!

It is important to keep in mind that mappy.com and viamichelin.com produce driving time estimates for people who live there - - who are just trying to get from point A to point B - - not sightsee along the way.

Best wishes,

Rex

What about multimap.com?

I will try these. I used Mapquest for directions to a would-be client with my boss and the directions sent us to a location several miles form destination and in a very rough part of town...in Knoxville, TN..........we still never figured that one out....
