Where to board Brenta Canal Cruise in Padova

Hi all...

For the life of me, I cannot find where to board the Brenta Cruise in Padova. The cruise website is not specific. I can find the cruise providers' place on Google maps, but there does not seem to be a dock there, so maybe it's just the offices.

I emailed them with no response forthcoming so far.

Any help would be appreciated, since we'd like to know how close to our hotel it is.

Thanks.

I accessed the website below, and found a map, as well as several references indicating that the pick-up point in Padua is Porto Portello:

http://www.padovanavigazione.it/pdf/...Brenta_ENG.pdf

However, this website suggests that there;s a new embarkation point called the porto contarine:

http://www.battellidelbrenta.it/home.php?setlan=en

it also has a FAQ section which may help.

Also - the hotel may know - you probably aren't the only guest they've had doing this.

BTW, the boat comany may be on holiday over Christmas, hence the slowness of their response.

If it is with I Battelli del Brenta, according to their web site http://www.battellidelbrenta.it/info...idual-tours/en, the Padova departures are from Burchiello Stairways at Portello, and they provide a map at http://www.battellidelbrenta.it/pics...ello_zoom1.gif. For this type of posting, it helps to specify the company and the web site you have looked at.

It depends on the cruise company/day/time/length of cruise. Some leave from Porta Portello or Porta Contarini in Padua, some leave from Stra which is accessible by bus from Padua bus station.

The company is the Battelli de Brenta.

Thanks for the links. I'll try them all. The ones on their site were a little unclear to me, but I'll look again.

Emailing the hotel is probably my best option - should have thought of that first.

(I, too, thought that it might be EITHER Porto Portello or Porto Contarine, but was not sure which.)

greg, it always helps to do that, but surprisingly few OPs do it.

still, i've learnt a lot from trying to help them.

Me too, annhig. I googled this question but did not post because I couldn't place Porto Portello in a wider scale map of Padova.

Ssander, you are in for a treat. We took a burchiello from the Venice end and had a very enjoyable day. Choose the fish option for lunch (if you like fish of course.)
