Of course I know that it's a harvest festival. One that originated in New England. The harvest would have been gathered well before the end of November. Even where I live, in NC, it's over by now aside from things like apples and winter veg.

I, too, hope that dutyfree had a great meal.

I know this after the fact but, try the DoubleTree Manchester, which has a holiday menu containing the typical Thanksgiving Turkey.

I thought that I would let you all know that we had a wonderful time in Manchester for our Thanksgiving holiday and birthday celebrations!

We ended up having a lovely turkey dinner at Sam's Chop House (which has been around since 1872,I believe?) that evening. We were able to get a very intimate booth (I put up a few turkey day decorations) and were able to enjoy a very nice meal for both my vegetarian son and the rest of us. Our turkey dinner included generous cuts of bird with stuffing,cranberry sauce,goose fat roasted potatoes,bacon wrapped sausages,etc.-all for 14 pounds!It was very tasty.

It was a favourite haunt of the painter L.S. Lowry and the place has a great buzz about it. I hope that you had the chance to wander round the Christmas Markets too!

That actually sounds like a Christmas dinner. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Btw, those sausages in bacon are called pigs in blankets
