Manchester Airport Car Service/Taxi
Mother in Law arriving ahead of us to visit relatives in Bradway Sheffield. Can fly her direct to Manchester from Nantes, but no-one can collect her from airport, so want low stress transport to our base in Sheffield. Hope to find car service, not sure if they work as they do from Heathrow, but would hope for someone to meet her in terminal and help her to car with her bags. HELP! If we cannot find anything, I do not think she will come over, trains are too stressful for her...

Hi Janisj ; As usual a life saver! -- why could I not get to this link, maybe since I am sitting over here is Dallas...? I guess I am going to start calling and see who is interested!

hi dendleju,
I decided to use a car service to get me from Manchester to York this past April.
This fellow was just five pounds more of a quote than one of the services from the airport's links and he was mentioned here on Fodors when I tried searching, so I contacted him and had a lovely trip. Cheers.

Oh shoot, just noticed this was a topped thread by an ad. Now it'll look like I'm pushing the service I used.

I realise that this an old thread, but personally I would use a car & driver from the destination rather than local to the airport. Any Sheffield driver will know the way to Manchester Airport, but only a Sheffield driver will know the best way to a Sheffield address. This is a particular benefit if the passenger does not know the way.
