Mamma Mia Help Me!
This is a question for London theatres in general and specifically the Prince Edward.
I am trying to decypher the seating terms.
What are differences in Stalls, Dress Circle, and Grand Circle?
As to the Prince Edward to anyone who has been there, are the three sections mentioned above on different levels, i.e. main floor, first and second balconey?
Any recommendations on the best seats and the worst?
Thanks
Jay

I think stalls are what we consider orchestra here in US; our seats were in first balcony, and they were great. It's such a fun performance!

Stalls is the orchestra. Dress circle is the mezzanine or first balcony. Grand circle is the second balcony (or the balcony if the level below is called the mezzanine).

We had tickets two weeks ago and ordered them through the Prince Edward before we left the U.S.

We sat in the stalls, which are on the main floor, and sat in Row S, seats 15, 16, 17 and 18. They were center stage and great.

Jay - for information on best and worst seats in London theatres, go to theatremonkey.com. The site lists reviews of all the shows, as well as commentary on the seating.

Loved Mamma Mia but we were second row of balcony and the people in front of us leaned over all the time to see, therefore we could not. Skip second row for sure
