Malta to Florence
Hi, I'm travelling from Malta Dec'15 to Florence, with family (9). What would be the best way to get there, ie: fly to Rome then train? Not sure, need help!
|
Alitalia has flights from Malta to Rome. It's how I traveled when I was there in December. I think it's the most practical way, maybe the only way in winter. I went on by train from Rome.
|
Check Ryanair and Easyjet to see which Italian cities they fly to/from Malta. I flew from Torino to Malta and then from Malta to Bergamo in July on Ryanair. No problems with either flight.

Yes, I meant flying in winter, not that Alitalia is the only way. Do check others too. Whichbudget.com is one site.

Dec 15th:
MLA dp 17.50 - ryanair (fares start at 30 EUR/pax) - PSA ar 19.35 - Pisa Mover - Pisa Centrale dp 20.32 - Trenitalia (fare 8 EUR/pax) - Florence ar 21.32. |
Thankyou for your suggestions, I'm still trying!

What do you try?
There is NO direct Malta - Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport flight. Direct flights go to the airport of Pisa, some 60 miles away. |
You could fly to Rome and catch the direct train from Fiumicino to Florence. Remember Ryanair usually flies into Ciampino, not Fiumicino, the main Rome airport.
