Malta or Croatia in the Middle of March

Hello All,

We have 5 days and wanted to see if we should do Malta or Croatia in March 2018

We are coming with our 4 year old son and 2 other friends

We would like to take it easy . Don't want to be rushed but still explore a little

Any input is appreciated

If we do croatia, it will like be 3 days Dubrovnik and 2 days Split

IMO, 5 days in Croatia is very little. If you decide to go there, consider reversing your time -- one day or so is enough for most people for Dubrovnik, whereas 2 days is very little for Split and possible day trips from there.

I haven't been to Malta yet, but from what I've ready, 5 days would be reasonable for a leisurely visit to that island. In contrast, you will miss a LOT of Croatia's treasures with only 5 days. That said, it really depends on what you and your friends want to see and experience.

Hope that helps!

I've been to both Croatia (along the coast) and Malta. There's very little to entertain a 4 year old in either place. Coming from Toronto you're used to damp climates but if it rains (likely in March) how will you keep your child busy?

You can see most of Malta in 5 days using the buses. Base yourself in Valletta, the capital and bus hub so you can get around the island easily. If you get a nice day you can take the bus to the north for the sand beaches.

I agree that old town Dubrovnik doesn't merit 3 days. One full day is enough as it's very small.

Either country will be relaxing but Malta is so small you won't need to change hotels. You can explore the entire island from 1 location.
