Malta or Canary Islands?

Hello! I live in Barcelona and I'm trying to decide where to go for a week in November. I want warmth, quiet, natural beauty, possibly some hiking options. I am looking to really get away, unplug, and get some writing done among beautiful scenery. I will be traveling alone but will most likely rent a car. I don't want to be a big, loud, bustling city. Therefore, I have narrowed my search to either Malta or the Canary Islands. Any advice about these places? Thanks!

If it's warmth you want I imagine the Canary Islands will be somewhat warmer.

I haven't been there but have been to Malta where I spent a couple of weeks and enjoyed it. I found the city & towns most interesting, rather than the landscape, so in that way Canaries may be more what you're looking for, too.

Definitely the Canaries. I'd choose on of the less busy islands, but in November it will be quieter in any case.

Perhaps Fuerteventura for decent restaurants, good choice of accommodation and reasonable weather. I can recommend Corralejo to tick all those boxes.

We go to La Palma in the western Canaries. November is rainy season. That doesn't mean you will get rain but there is more chance than in other months. It will still be warm. There is excellent hiking to be had there, with many well labeled hikes into the mountains and into the Caldera and volcanoes, and plenty of peace and quiet if you want it. Look for a place on the west coast, not to high up, if you can. A car is pretty much essential thought there is an extensive bus (guagua) service.
If the weather is bad on one side of the island it is often good on the other, with the western side usually having the better weather.
Not too many hotels, but tons of small holiday lets for not a lot of money.
