malpensa to the west side of lake como
 

Well, our apartment in Varenna may have fallen through. We're finding some nice places but, they are on the west side and are not in the major town of Menaggio. We've found place more around Brienna, Colonno, Laglio. Any ideas on how best to get to these places? Do we take the train to Como town and then take local bus/train/ferry? What's the best option. We get into Malpensa around 3pm. thanks so much.

Hi Wug - Yes - train from Malpensa to Como via Saronno (Ferrovie Nord).

From Como take the C10 Como-Colico bus up the west side of Lake Como.
