Malpensa to Menaggio- Updated Info Needed
 

We arrive Malpensa 9/24 at approximately 3 pm. An old post gave detailed instructions using airport bus to Milan, then train to Como. I am wondering if the transport itinerary has changed. Many thanks in advance

You can also make your way to the main rail station and from there take a train to Varenna and from there take the ferry across to Menaggio.

BUT depending on the ferry schedules (yes, you CAN train to the city of Como and ferry from there also) you might want to consult those first..here is the website:

I've never taken the bus from Malpensa to Menaggio, so I can't speak from experience, but it does have the latest departure to Menaggio at 8:20 pm. (That's until August 27th. If your trip is after that date, you'll have to check all of the last bus and ferry options and re-think.) For that reason alone, I would take the train to Como and then ferry or bus to Menaggio depending on when you get to Como.

When you check the train schedules, use Malpensa Aeroporto, Varenna Esino and Como Lago for the destinations.

My first sentence is poorly written. The bus is from Como to Menaggio, and the last bus from Como to Menaggio departs at 8:20 pm. You would train first from Malpensa to Como.
