Can anyone recommend a hotel that is close to the airport. We have a morning flight and do not want to take any chances with getting lost in the morning before our flight. 10-15 minute drive is fine as long as the directions are very easy.

I believe there's a Parador that's near the airport. You can check it out at Parador.es. Also, you might be able to find one through solmelia.com.

If you haven't made a reservation yet, you might take a look at the Hotel Tryp Guadalmar. It was recommended to me by a local auto agency in Malaga (I'll be there in April). It's near the airport, on a "beach," and is inexpensive (77 Euros weekdays, 70 Euros weekends). Here's a website for the hotel:

It's expensive in May... 95 euros per night. I would like something cheaper...

Try the Ibis Malaga. It should be about $72.00 in May. The airport is very close, maybe 5 - 10 minutes. It is on the main road between malaga and Torremolinos.
