Malaga article

In today's Telegraph there's a great article on Malaga. It not only mentions some of Kimhe's restaurant suggestions but also mentions new attractions like a Pompidou Center, a St. Petersburg Russian State Museum, and an automobile museum. Have a read, and you'll want to visit.

Robert2533 Mar 25th, 2015 06:41 PM

Pompidou Center is in Paris, a long way from Málaga.

Bedar Mar 25th, 2015 06:50 PM

Right, Robert, but a branch has been put in Malaga! And, St. Petersburg is in Russia, but a branch has been put in Malaga! Truly bizarre.

Robert2533 Mar 25th, 2015 07:02 PM

Truly bizarre is right! Hopefully the Pompidou Center in Málaga is more architecturally pleasing then the one in Paris.

Bedar Mar 25th, 2015 07:11 PM

And, what could be more bizarre than a Guggenheim in Bilbao !! There's a Hermitage in Amsterdam ! Sure do agree about the Pompidou- Paris's architecture. Never liked it.

Guggenheim in Bilbao has put the city on the tourist map..

Pompidou in Paris is totally outdated.

And the article has got a fine video intro to Málaga city: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/de...pt-secret.html

About the emerging art district close to Plaza la Marina, SOHO Málaga: http://www.sohomlg.com/

And when in comes to Chocolate con churros (ref. the Málaga video above), nothing compares to Casa Aranda! http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaur...Andalucia.html

Kimhe, thanks for having put up the link to the article. I don't know how to do that on the iPad.

Danon, yes, the Guggenheim has helped Bilbao become a tourist destination as has the tearing down of heavy industry sites. I guess all these museum branches help bring tourists wherever. They do have much in storage so it's a way of displaying all that. If you're in LA, you can go see the fraternal twin of the Bilbao building at the Disney Music Center. Prefer the Bilbao building. Now, if they'd get rid of the awful Koons thing in front ..

The Puppy is part of the charm, and very much a part of the city. It's in bloom all year long!

Bedar Mar 26th, 2015 11:45 AM

No, Robert, the puppy is not charming. Maybe it could go in front of the Disney Music Center but ... no,no, no puppy. V. trite.

I also like many buildings and bridges in Spain designed by Calatrava .
