Majorca or Marbella, Spain?

Planning a trip with 6 girls to Spain, we are all single and in our early 30's and have a free Time Share gift to utilize and our choices are Marbella or Majorca, Spain. Anyone have any rec.'s? Even if you haven't been to both, any feedback would be greatly appreciated:)!

I've been to timeshares at both. I've been back to Marbella twice and probably won't go back to Mallorca, though I'm glad I went once. Depends on what you like to do. I love art and architecture and museums and flamenco and the white villages and the area around Marbella provides both. We've always rented a car at both locations and do lots of planning for day trips in advance.

I'm going to say Majorca...probably a younger crowd. Anyway, it depends on the season..winter is cold in Majorca so there are many places closed.

Do you know where on Mallorca that time share is located. Some places on the island are nicer than others.
In general, I would also vote for Mallorca if you want to be with crowds your age.
There are many places on Mallorca for daytrips, e.g. the historic train to Sóller, driving along the Tramuntana (the northwestern ridge) and explore hidden beaches and beautiful villages like Deia or Fornalutx. Palma, the capital, is a pretty cool place to shop, plus you have several factory outlets nearby, e.g. for Camper shoes.

IMo it is related to time of the year, in winter, Marbella will have a nicer temp than Mallorca and in summer Mallorca will have less crowds than Marbella. Or at least they will be more spread around the island.
I like better Mallorca for a few days under the sun. But probably the inland is more interesting in Marbella.

Penelopestar:

We must know the location of your apartments in order to give you proper recommendation. Mallorca is a large island and very diverse, with stark beautiful regions and with tacky regions. Same with Marbella.

You'll get much better info if you tell us:

What time of year

Exactly what area in each case

What your interests are (just sitting on a beach - or also sighseeing or ???)
