Hi Maitaitom,

Dinner at Le Trumilou sounds perfect!!! That's our style-doesn't have to be fancy and we like reasonable prices. 7:30 is a great time. So we'd love to join you and Tracy and share the first vino rouge toast to your anniversary! Since we've been using strictly our screen name in our posts, we thought it's time to introduce ourselves as "Tom and Margie", part of which you might have surmised.

In case you need to contact us, our US phone # in Europe will be: 1 209 439 7206.

Dinner with you and Tracy will be a wonderful finale to what we hope will be a good trip. We're now bearing down on final days prep as we leave early Wednesday morning.

Thanks for inviting us to join you and for making the reservations. Look forward to our dinner in Paris!

PS We're both kind of light-brown hair, blue-eyed, medium height typical friendly-looking (we hope!) Americans who will probably recognize you as a happy couple who are ready to toast their anniversary!

> Unless anyone knows a wine bar in the Marais that would be a good place to go in late afternoon?

Perhaps something at the Place do Vosges?

Hey Tom and Margie…still no response from restaurant, but but usually takes them a few days. I'm sure there is no problem in changing reservations since we are so far out (sounds like John Denver).

See you both at 19:30 on the 17th. Have a great trip!! Hope Hotel Gletschergarten lives up to the advanced billing and you get a nice view of the Eiger and Clint Eastwood. See you in Paris!!!!

Hi Tom and Tracy,

We're "bookin' it" to get out in the morning. So glad to receive your message. Thanks for the "Bon Yoyage". We're really looking forward to having that vin rouge toast and dinner on the 17th. . .7:30. Like you said, it often takes restaurants in Europe a few days to respond. If any changes, though, we'll have our SURFACE along, trusting that these places have the WIFI they advertise!

Again, thanks for making the reservations! See you in Paris on the 17th!!!

Tom and Margie

Hi maitai,
I posted on the Paris Best Lodge thread as my husband and I will be staying in the Notre Dame apartment on the left bank from September 16 until the end of the month. It would be fun to meet you and Tracy if you are our neighbors (or even if you are staying elsewhere.) Of course, if you'd rather just have a romantic stay for two, we understand.
Congratulations on your 20th!

Great...just got an email from Air France that there might be a strike on the day we leave. I might be eating French food in L.A. instead.

"I am so looking forward to this trip report!"

...and it looks like the report just got longer. It seems Air France will now book us two days early to avert us from not going thanks to the strike, so now, just as in London, I get to scramble for a place to stay for a couple of days before the apartment is ready.

I stayed here in July and liked it a lot. Feminine decor, though--not sure a macho maitai like you can handle it.

Where are you staying for the rest of your trip? Perhaps the bonus days should be in a totally different area.

maitai, we are having this issue as well. I've been on the phone most of the evening speaking with four different people at Air France and Alaska Airlines as we we booked the ticket through them using mileage points. Everyone seems to keep reassuring us that this is likely not going to interfere with international flights and it seems tricky to switch the ticket because we were using miles (Alaska told us to call AF, AF says it has to be done on Alaska's end, etc.) We will be very ready for that drink with you and Tracy when we get there!
