mailing a package in advance of arrival at a Berlin hotel

We are touring German, Switzerland and Austria in June before embarking on a Baltic cruise. We would like to travel a light as possible while on land and then augment our wardrobe for the cruise. What are the possibilites of mailing a package to our hotel and having it waiting for us when we arrive?

E mail the hotel!

Usually no problem, but ask hotel first.
Costs for international shipping can be pretty steep, though.
If you start your trip in Germany, you could think about bringing your extra stuff for the cruise in an extra suitcase (esp. if your international flight lets you check bags for free). And mail that suitcase as it is from any post office at your first destination in Germany to the hotel in Berlin. This costs around €15.

Any hotel will hold packages fo ryou - but contact them in advance to notify the and get the name of the person/staff who will be holding the package.

The much bigger question is how much the packages will weigh and how much it will cost to get to the hotel - assuming you want a quick turnaround (not send weeks in advance).

Also you need to do the customs paperwork so that there won't be any duty on the package. I think you need to label -"used clothing for personal use" or similar - but the shipper should be able to advise you.

If you use a company such as DHL or UPS you have the ability to pay for speed of transport and delivery. You will be given a specific time frame for delivery.
