Maiden Voyage

Hi all!
I need help from those who've gone to London recently. Where can I eat for less than 10pounds? I want to try really good Indian dishes at moderate prices. But other than that I just need tips for everyday good English food.

London can be challenging to get cheap eats, but in my experience 10 pounds isn't an unreasonable budget for a meal.

Pubs are usually a good bet to get something inexpensive. I like fancyapint.com for pub recommendations per area.

Unfortunately, I didn't try Indian food on my last visit because I was with picky eaters, but I think if you do a quick search for "London Restaurants" in the search box you'll get some good tips. I'll be more adventurous on my next trip because I'm traveling with my dad.

I thought Pret-a-Manger was decent for food on the go. I know some people on here think it's icky and subpar, but I thought it was fine in a pinch.

You might also tell us what area you're staying in so we can give more specific advice.

You ought to be able to get fish and chips for that.

And sandwich bars, like Pret a Manger or E.A.T.

The Stockpot, on Old Compton Street, has good basic English food in your price range.
