Leaving in a few days for three weeks in Madrid including an extended side trip. Have been there many times, the last time was October 2016. But a SIL moved there and is living in Las Letras.
We like walking the city and tapas hopping. My wife and SIL are artists so we will revisit the museums and the renovated Royal Tapestry factory. This time we will visit the mercados but to bring something back to the apartment for cooking. We will also look for Easter processions, nothing like Sevilla but should be interesting nonetheless. One of my favorite stores is Casa Hernanz where the sell all things hemp but that, especially shoes. It is on Calle de Toledo just south of Plaza Mayor. |
Maribel's guide to dining in Madrid is as recent as the changing scene allows. There have been a few dozen new venues added just this year, but it gives you a good place to start.

To add to my post above, because we had not been before and we only had a few days, we were seeing all the 'sights'. If I had more time or went again, id love to spend time in the park and the plazas, chilling and people Watching, seeking put tapas and churro's and visiting the other art galleries, the convent and some churches
