Madrid with Children
My daughter is traveling to Madrid in June with her husband and three children ( Ages 12,10,7). Of course, they would love to see soccer. Any other suggestions for kid friendly activities. They plan day trips to Toledo and Segovia.
Transporation: She he can get a Eurail pass for three days for the family for $400e. Can this be used on all Renfe trips including Toledo and Segovia? Can you use it for Seville and Granada? Is it easy to get a cab from the airport to the city for five people or is that something you need to book ahead of time? Food Is it best to eat mid day? Does Madrid still do the meal of the day? Is it easy to get tapas early like around 7pm? Activities Is there a site for kids to see flamenco? Does the Prado have kid programs? Any suggestions? What one other city would be most kid friendly? They are not flying open jaw so they would have to return to Madrid to go home? |
Watch for this thread to be moved to Europe branch. You posted in the Lounge and recently they (management) have a new policy of moving threads out of the Lounge into the other forums.

Yep it will be moved soon.....so if it is not here, go to the Europe Board.

I just want to compliment you on the title of your thread. I loved the Bundy family.

You probably have to arrange transportation from the airport to take 2 taxis
June in Madrid is hot.. 90+ manu nice parks to spend time in Seville and Granada is even hotter...Malaga is a nice town on the sea, probably a good option search Renfe for answer re Euro pass and Prado page for programs one can eat any time of the day, menu of the day is available in many restaurants. |
OR take 2 taxis
|
Yes the menu del dis is still available
yes you can get tapas at 7 PM and there are many family friendly tapas bars. |
It shouldn’t be a problem getting a taxi from the airport for your family of 5. There is a que and you will be directed to the proper taxi. The fee is fixed at €30, nothing extra for luggage at Barajas.
Gettting tapas at 7:00 pm will be difficult unless you head for one of the tourist traps. Check Maribel’s Guides for a little more information. |
