And if you're into sardines/anchoas and have not already been here, you MUST go to Txepetxa, anchovies heaven and a classic in the Parte vieja. The pintxos variations over the same theme is sensational: http://www.bartxepetxa.com/

And Txepetxa is just across the street from cutting edge Zeruko: https://sansebastianpintxobars.com/pintxo-bars/zeruko/

We went to your sardine place and to Atari on the corner by the church. Wonderful places. We spent yesterday on the beach in hendaye, just across the river on a little passenger ferry from hondarribia in france. Boy, was that fun. Last night we went to a cider house near oriartzun and had chorizo, cod, steak, quice jelly, cheese and glasses of cider. Big noisy place sorta like blog's park near baltimore (not too useful a comparison i guess). They open the spigot on the cider cask and you hold the glass to catch the stream of cider. Lots of men. Men in Spain don't seem to lead lives of quiet desperation. Today we drove to Aia, a pretty mountain town, and iturraran, a beautiful botanic garden near zarautz. I took many pictures of flowers. Maybe we'll go to a jazz club tonight but we'll probably just hang out at the house. One more day and then we fly to Marrakech. Maybe we'll ride a camel. Probably not.

Oh, I got to play volleyball on the beach with some French guys at hendaye. That was fun. I'll also note in passing that women on the beach in spain and france are very attractive. Like die and go to heaven attractive. Just sayin.

Hehe, sounds like you're having a great time, and very little "quiet desperation" for anyone in the sidrerías ;-)

And great jazz clubs in San Sebastián, Altxerri - right on the Boulevard - is one of the best: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/spain/s.../448289/360741

Our friends went to altxerri tonight and enjoyed it a lot. Dw and I stayed home and cooked chicken and pasta. What's happened to us?

Today we went to the biotope inurritza which is a park and hiking trail on the headbands east of the beach at zarautz, and then for lunch in getaria. It was too rainy for swimming but the hiking was beautiful. Four hundred steps to the beach. Views like Big Sur. Tomorrow back to MAD and ryan air to Marrakech.
