madrid's casa patas

Hello,

I'm leaving for Spain next week. Just wondering if reservations are recommended for this place, or if it would be a "good" (i.e. laidback, unpretentious) place for a newcomer to flamenco to check out.

Thanks.

withglasses,
I think Casa Patas is a great "unpretentious" place for a flamenco newbie. I enjoy it more than the more touristy "tablaos" that are on the nightclub bus tour circuit.
For Aug. getting a table once you arrive in Madrid shouldn't be a problem, but you can always email them at the address on their web page. Check out their schedule at www.casapatas.com (if you haven't already seen it.)

Thanks! I was a bit unsure of Chinitas and will definitely opt for Casa Patas instead. As I'm well aware of your great knowledge of Spain, your tips are much appreciated!
