Madrid metro and metrobur tickets

Hi all,
I'm planning on getting the metro from Madrid airport to Seville station (Madrid metro station).

I've looked on the MetroMadrid website, which states metrobur tickets are valid on all metro stations and "all EMT stations, except the Plaza de Colón - Airport line"

Does this mean Barajas airport is not a metro station but an EMT station? Or do 2 separate metro lines services the airport?

Do I need to purchase a separate Airport-Nuevos Ministerios ticket?

Thanks

EMT isn't the metro, it's the Madrid bus system.

The airport metro stop (at Terminal 2?) is brand new and very nice with an information office right there to answer questions in most languages I imagine. The cars seem to be brand new and nicely set up for travellers with luggage. Depending on your ultimate destination in Madrid, you may have to switch lines once or twice. Try it, its nice, just dont be afraid to ask questions.

i was just in madrid on business for a few days.
the metrobus 10 pass ticket costs about 5.50 euros. one trip 1.20 i think.
i do believe it will take you all the way out to BARAJAS with no extra charge than one normal trip, but when you buy the ticket they will tell you.

there is also an airport bus from barajas - plaza colon that has nothing to do with the EMT red bus city system.

but beware of thieves on ALL transportation.
saw them in action several times during three day stay.

i have warned about them repeatedly, but it is absolutely amazing ...keep hand in pocket on wallet at all times.
do not leave important things in exterior zippered knapsack pocket.

interior zippers in jackets are a great idea. just keep out in pocket what you will need to access to buy your tickets, etc., and try to protect yourself against a wall when looking at maps.

Thanks everyone. That's very helpful.

lincasanova - thanks for the security tip. I think it's really a matter of being aware. I've seen it happen time after time in london, and it can almost always be avoided.

Cheers
