Madrid Hotel offer at travelzoo
I have never stayed here but it is a very good chain. This may help someone this summer. Looks like a good deal.

Ha, ha, ha!
Well, I figured I got that airfare deal on Travelzoo by not dilly dallying around, so hopefully, this won't be any different (minus them bending the rules and everything for me)
We'll see what happens!

I had a nice room at the Maria Elena Palace last week. Take a look at their prices if this doesn't work out. We walked almost everywhere. I did a short report.
Summer in Madrid is usually cheap, but things do go up in the Fall and there are a lot of conventions that really affect prices. What about Maribel's favorites?

The Galgos is OK. I have stayed there many times. I also like the Hesperia Emperatriz. But my Madrid visits are all price oriented..
I hope you find a good deal in October, kyliebaby3.

That's an incredible rate for the Hesperia. A little too far north for walking to sightseeing, but the metro is a short walk away, and buses right out in front that take you down the Castellana to the Prado.
I've stayed at the Hesperia at a rate of 100 euros plus vat (and felt like I scored a great bargain), but this is the best deal ever! Especially since they throw in breakfast (which usually costs about 25 euros for the buffet).
Much more upscale than the Galgos and more or less the same distance from the museum triangle.

Thanks Lincasanova! We've got a reservation at Hostal Cervantes per someone else's rec on another thread, but I figured this was worth checking out if I could get the deal. We'll have to see! I'll report back if they do in fact honor this for October.
