Madrid hotel for 4? Have to get 2 rooms?
 

Evening, I have been online for the last 3 hours searching and reading about hotels in Madrid! We are a family of 4, kids are teenagers and we want them to sleep on something besides a rollaway, but boy, I cannot find a whole lotta places for 4 people unless I get 2 rooms! This gets expensive. Any suggestions? I am looking, thanks to a poster, at the High Tech hotels? They seem to have rooms with bunk beds. Anyone know if these are big enough for teens? Thanks for your help or suggestions.

Look at the High Tech group and also Suites El Prado at www.suiteprado.com
Their suites #401, 402, 403 are spacious enough for 4 and have a kitchenette.

You might also try e-mailing the hotel(s) directly and asking for specifics.

I feel your pain. It is very easy anywhere to get a room for two people and in most cases the rooms will hold three. In Europe Quads or rooms that will hold four are not that common and going to two rooms really raises costs.
I too have spent hours going over internet web sites. I keep thinking someone should write a book about hotels which have rooms for families. We often stay at apartments. I do however agree with JonJon that emailing hotels you might be interested in will often get you something you want. Best of luck.

Intercontinental Hotels generally has a package where you pay for one room and get the second one half-price. The one in Madrid is well-located and quite nice.

I found a great hotel in Madrid last year through the tourist board at the train station.
Hotel Ingles is in a great location only a few blocks from the main square and the rooms are HUGE.
Ours had a king size bed a full living room seperated by a sliding door a nice balcony over looking a street closed to traffic and a bathroom big enough for all four of you!
Rooms were spotless!
I am sure they offer quad rooms.
The staff was very friendly.
We paid $ 65 a night in June of 2002. It was the best deal on our 2 month trip through Europe.
I don?t have their contact information on hand but as soon as I find it I will send it to you.

Thank you all for your help. So far I am looking at the Petit Palace Ducal as they have a special for stay 4 nights, pay for 3.(This would be a room with 2 twins and then bunks) Just hope it is in an area so we can get some sleep after a long flight!

Since it's on a busy corner, Gran Vía and Hortaleza, when you book, just request an interior room. Since it's a complete refit of an old mansion (the "palace" part), I would assume anyway that they've provided good soundproofing, and the windows of the front rooms facing Hortaleza should be double glazed.
The www.hthotels.com site is advertising some solid specials now.
And I see they're opening yet another one in Jan. off the Puerta del Sol on Calle Arenal.

Carlos V has quad rooms. Also, check expedia, they having listings of rooms in Madrid for 4. You have to call or email the hotels and ask about quads. They're rarely mentioned on booking sites or hotel websites, as many of the hotels may only have a handful of such accommodations.
