Madrid Hotel Choice of Three

Two early 20s young men will be in Madrid for 3 nights. Torn between theses three hotels: Hotel Plaza Mayor or Hostal Adriana or Room Mate Alicia - Madrid All have good reviews, the price is slightly different.
Which pace to stay? Which worth the extra $$? What location is better?
Thanks you in advance for your advice

We just got back from Madrid. Stayed at Room Mate Alicia. IMO a perfect place for folks in their 20s. Small but well-designed, stylish rooms with large, powerful showers (though small area for toilet and sink) Great youthful staff. Best of all right on the Plaza Santa Ana with lots of restaurants and tapas bars and plenty of outdoor dining and drinking in all price ranges. On Saturdays the party goes on all night so ask for an interior room if you don't want to be part of it.

Don't know about the others but RM Alicia location within the city is great--a short walk to Plaza Mayor and another short walk in the opposite direction to the Prada and museum area. Also not far from the Palace and Cathedral.

If you intend to taxi there, be sure your driver knows that the street leading to Calle de Prado is blocked off for repairs and that cars pretty much have to get there via the Plaza Mayor facing side of the Plaza Santa Ana.

I just answered the duplicate thread, just wanted to add that the metro is a very easy low price alternative to a taxi to RMA.
