Madrid-Granada Does Any Other Airline Fly?

Iberia does.

Any other airline?

Air Europa does, but I think you have to connect and it's not any cheaper than Iberia. It is worth it to keep checking iberia.com for fares, since they fluctuate greatly.

If you can't get a cheap one for your dates, an alternative is to take the bus to Malaga and fly from there on Spanair.

Lesli: what do you mean by "connect"? Can you fly non-stop from Madrid to Granada or is the connection between Madrid and Granada? I am very interested in flying into Granada on our next trip. It is a very nice airport, easy to park, and easy to get into and out of. I would love to find a Granada flight from anywhere that connects to Logan -- is that doable?

According to its website, Air Europa flies only Madrid-Malaga. I'm quite sure only Iberia flies to Granada; it's a small airport, less than 10 flights in/out a day. All flights connect through either Madrid or Barcelona.

If you choose Granada as your departure airport and BCN as your arrival, you will get a result. The connection on this route is at Palma de Mallorca - not terribly convenient, and as I said, fares are really no better than Iberia, which is direct.

Gail: It does not appear that you can do Madrid to Granada on Air Europa, nor on Spanair (www.spanair.com). Iberia would be your only direct flight on that route, I think.

Thanks, Lesli. Since there are no flights from Boston to anywhere in Spain, we'd have to fly NH to some-east-coast-airport to Madrid to Granada. yuck. I wonder if there are any flights from London to Granada?? If there were, then we could go Boston-London-Granada. That's definitely doable.

whoops, sorry. I just re-read patg's message and see that all flights go through Madrid (or Malaga) so I guess it just doesn't make sense for us. too bad, tho. it would've been a great place to land after a long trip!

I know Iberia flies from Madrid to Granada.

I was hoping for something a little ealier than 12:30.

There are really very few flights into and out of Granada. We were there last month--got to the airport 2 1/2 hrs early as traffic was light, and it was basically shut down. No agents at all to check people in till about 1 hour prior to the flight. The place was deserted.

You might like the train. A metro runs from the airport every 5 minutes to the railway stations of Madrid, and a buffet car express train leaves Madrid Atocha Cercanias station at 0820 and reaches Granada at 1405. The fare is about 40 euros.
