An excellent suggestion for anyone wanting to see cutting edge flamenco dance in Madrid in April!

Concha Jareño won two of the most prestigious national dance prizes at the triannual flamenco contest in Córdoba in 2007. Last year she was awarded the Revelation Prize at the flamenco festival in Jerez. She does a month or to every year in tablaos like this to experiment and get a more up-front feeling than in the big theatres. I've seen her once and can't wait to se her again.

Not yet confirmed, but rumours will have it that the flamenco dance genious Rocío Molina will premiere her new show in Madrid May 27-30.

22 years old rising star Bélen López often dances at Cardamomo, close to Plaza Santa Ana. At her best she evokes memories of the greatest flamenco dancer of all times, Carmen Amaya (1913-1963).
