Madrid, evening and noon flight
 

We are flying into Madrid Saturday evening, 7 PM. Flight leaves at noon Sunday. Recommendations on where to eat, stay and do in that short time. We can always sleep on the way back...

Saturday night is the BEST in Madrid - and it doesn't get hopping until about midnight, so you'll have plenty of time to have some fun.

Are you taking the metro from the airport into Madrid? I stayed at a hotel right next to one of the most central metro stations in Madrid, Puerta Del Sol (most people just called it “Sol”). My hotel – Hotel Europa – was only a few yards away from the Metro station. This hotel was great, the staff members were really nice, and the hotel had a fun outdoor café open from 7am until midnight – it was perfect for people watching. It's only a couple blocks away from the Plaza Mayor, which was the best place to sit and people watch. (Hotel Plaza Mayor is also a good option for hotel - I stayed there too). There are plenty of places to eat and drink sangria in both areas, and there are also places to go dancing.

You can certainly stay in central Madrid for that night. The metro goes to the airport, and it's about a 45-min ride to central Madrid.

Puerta del Sol area is great, but you'll need to change twice on the Metro (via 3 different lines), and you'll need to carry your luggage up/down flights of stairs.

Of course, it won't be an issue if you're going to take a taxi instead.

This is right under the Plaza Mayor. The food is great and it's not too expensive.

Ambiance is all about Madrid eating and this place is full of bags of ambiance.

There are about 50% Spanish and the other half are tourists. You'll remember this restaurant~both the food and the decor. This restaurant has been in business since 1725.
