Madrid: City Views
Interested in easy to get to locations that have great city views, especially at sunset. I saw where the Bellas Artes Center has a rooftop bar with panoramic views over Madrid. Looking for similiar locations and/or perhaps hotel lounges with good views and an opportunity for a drink.

I guess I didn't realize , if you had googled, that you had already seen the 11 Madrid rooftop bars. Sorry to have taken you for one of the many people who do no research and make questions that are very extensive in their answers. Maybe you can ask people for their favorites from the list you saw on google?

Watch the sunset over the Guadarrama mountains from the terrace at El Ventorrillo in the Vistillas park. Just beside the Almudena cathedral and close to the Royal Palace. Perfect for a drink or two. Map, video and some pictures: http://11870.com/pro/restaurante-ventorrillo

I guess you are damned if you do and damned if you don't sometimes. Have gotten slammed on other sites for providing too much research. Anyhow, these look interesting:
Le Trerraza del Urban - Urban hotel
The Penthouse - Me Hotel
Sky night - hotel Silken Puerta de America
Laterrazadeosear - room mate oscar
Plaza de Callao, 9the floor, el Cortes ingles

The views from the Corte Ingles are amazing! You go to the top floor and they have food to buy/eat and you can even sit outside.I just walked around outside and took loads of photos,The waiters were gracious enough to take some of me-what a good idea that was of Corte Ingles

I don't remember any spectacular views at Pta. de América hotel when I was at a cocktail there. It is right near the Av de América metro/bus depot so easily accessible., though.
El Corte Inglés has great views in all their stores around Spain, it seems, at least from my personal experience.
The ME hotel is in a nice plaza.. nice to be up high.
Best INTERIOR if you can at least sneak in the hallway is the CASINO DE MADRID to see the staircase and front hall.. wow. If you eat at THEIR rooftop or regular restaurant, you gain entrance bypassing this private club's spaces on way up.. quite beautiful.
