Madrid Bull Fighting arena tour

On a recent trip to Madrid our family of 5 took the tour of Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas. We were not interested in going to a bullfight but this 30 minute guided tour was very interesting and informative. We thought the history of the ring and bullfighting in Madrid was very worthwhile. The tours are offered from 9:30 to 2:30 every day except Saturday and the language depends on the group. It cost 7 euros for adults and 4 for children. We got to go on the arena floor and visited all the behind the scenes areas. There is a small gift shop and a small free museum. We felt like this was the perfect "bullfighting" experience for us and since there is so much debate on this forum of whether to go to a bullfight or not, we thought this was a good alternative.

Thanks for posting. I saw the tour offered on the Las Ventas website and wondered about it, so appreciate the info.

Thanks for this info. It appears that you do not buy advance tickets, you go to the tour office at Las Ventas. Is that what you did?

Yes you buy tickets on site and the tours seem like they are every half hour but very loose depending on how many people are there.
