Madrid Area - Horseback Riding - Club Hípico La Colina

Has anyone done the sunset horseback ride with Club Hípico La Colina outside of Madrid?

I received this Groupon offer and am interested in any feedback.

Thanks very much!

Know noting about it - but the fact that they say no previous riding experience is required makes me think it will be very limited - with "sofa" horses.

(Every time I have seen something like this it turns out to be least common denominators with horses that walk at most - and graze whenever possible. Sort of like riding a sofa. Usually if you want something for people who know anything about riding and horses that will do more than a slow shuffle - they require a certain level of experience and have rides that actually take you to see much. Also - IMHO riding in rally hot weather is no fun for either the rider or the horse - and you don;t mention when this is planned for.)

It says good for sunrise also.. which in summer would be my suggestion. A good deal for 1.5 hours of guided ride whether you walk or gallop around. Sounds like a very good deal

If this is for people with no previous experience I very much doubt that they will be galloping about - or that the horses are capable of more that a quick shuffle.

Sometimes guides can organize times when the experienced riders can go ahead while the less experienced stay behind with him if they are on reliable horses that are too lazy to follow suit. Most places will try to find a way for someone more experienced to have a nice canter if they wish at some point.

Otherwise, as I said, it's a good price even if you are just meandering around the countryside for an hour and a half catching the sunrise on a calm trail ride..

Thanks very much, Lincasanova.

I would do the sunset ride in early October. I've done a 3 hour sunrise ride in Ronda about 12 years ago and have no desire to get up at that hour again! LOL! Although it was a great and beautiful ride!

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the area and if it would provide beautiful views, etc., in addition to a good ride.

Carretera de El Pardo to Fuencarral

I imagine I could take a taxi there and they could call a taxi to return me to Madrid.

There must be a cheaper way to get there than taxi!! Send them an email. you ever know how generous they may be in collecting you from a train or bus station.
