Madrid and ? for 2 weeks
 

I will be in Spain for 2 weeks in Sept, taking day trips in and around Madrid the first week. But I have to choose one of the following options for the second week and would like your oopinions. Choice #1 Go on to Valencia or Barcelona and take a ship to Ibiza or Majorca #2 head to Lisbon #3 Northern Portugal. Any suggestions? Thanks, Judy

I recommend Barcelona and surrounding areas. I hope your day trips from Madrid include Seville and Toledo.

Judy, I agree with Carrie and Amy's advice. Must see cities in Spain are Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona, Seville & Costa del Sol. Valencia, Mallorca and Ibiza are also beautiful.

How could you go to Madrid and not take a trip to cuenca? It is the most wonderful small city I have ever journeyed to. It is much better than Toledo and not as toursity. It is also a world heritage city. You must consider this city and stay in the old part.

Divide the 2nd week between Seville and Barcelona. Seville certainly deserves more than a day trip.
