Madrid and Barcelona in 1 week?

We only have 1 week and it's our first time to spain. Everyone says barcelona but i also feel like we'd miss out if we didn't see madrid? Are the two too much to do in 1 week?

I think you can do it. I haven't been to Barcelona, but have been to Madrid. You can see Madrid's highlights and some in 3 solid days. The rest of the time you can spend in Barcelona. You need to arrange an open-jaw ticket (fly into one city and depart from the other). I would also looked into flying vs train between the 2 cities.

Go for it! I did Barcelona, Pamplona and San Sebastian in one week. Mind you I was in my early 20's at the time and had incredible energy

It can be done, but it may be a bit overwhelming. If you think you may come back (which after this trip, you probably will want to!), then I'd concentrate on 1 and do day trips to the surrounding areas. There is so much to see, do and eat!

Buen viaje!
